Job Description

 

The Market Intelligence team at GfK provides clients with data on what products are selling, when, where and for how much. This allows our clients to better understand and anticipate changing market and channel dynamics and identify areas where action needs to be taken. To do so, GfK collects the sales data from retailers in Belgium in different sectors, like Consumer Electronics, Small & Major Domestic Appliances, Stationary, IT, Telecom, Entertainment…

 

For our Market Intelligence team, located in Leuven, we are looking for a proactive and motivated Market Intelligence Consultant. You will be working primarily with our clients in the Technical Consumer Goods sector (e.g. Consumer Electronics, Telecom…).

 

This is a key role with significant client interaction. The Market Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for all day-to-day enquiries, support, reporting deliveries and client interaction, including story-led presentations, meetings and workshops. In addition, you will also be required to work cross-functionally, with GfK’s Sales, Operations and other Client Solutions teams, to ensure all client opportunities are aligned. The Market Intelligence Consultant will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the table, especially with regards to developing new insight and client engagement plans.

As Market Intelligence Consultant, you will have following key accountabilities: 

  • Manage a defined list of clients, ensuring the delivery of contractual products and services.
  • Respond to client queries and explain data trends based on analysis and knowledge.
  • Ensure client service is delivered to the agreed standard.
  • Create and deliver market presentations to provide insight and recommendations to help clients improve their business positions.
  • Work cross functionally within GfK to ensure client needs are met and questions answered, this is both locally and internationally.
  • Develop market and product knowledge for product categories you cover.

 

Now that we’ve introduced you to the position as Market Intelligence Consultant, what skills, qualifications and experience should you have?

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in the field of economics or marketing.
  • You have at least 4 years of relevant work experience (market research, consumer electronics, retail…)
  • You have a broad research knowledge and understanding.
  • You have robust analytical skills.
  • You have an eye for detail, high quality standards and client relationships hold no secrets to you.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, with a good knowledge of French.
  • You are a team player, have a hands-on mentality and know when to work hard but also when to have fun!
