A traditional highlight for the Belgian marketing sector is on the agenda in early November with the presentation of the Belgian Marketing Awards. Today, the Selection Committee of the Belgian Marketing Awards announced the finalists for each category.

For Marketing Leadership of the Year, they are:

Wim Vermeulen (Bubka)
José Fernandez (D’Ieteren)
Cédric Cauderlier (Mountainview).

For Marketing Company of the Year, the following companies were nominated:

Spadel
Edgard & Cooper
Lola & Liza

For Young Marketing Company of the Year, the following companies won a final spot:

Flexiq
Goodless
Lucien Bikes

It was not an easy choice for the Selection Committee. From a total of 35 cases, they had to nominate 9 finalists. Specifically, there were 17 applications for the Leadership of the Year Award, 10 applications for the Company of the Year Award and 8 applications for the Young Company of the Year Award.

The jury presidents are therefore pleased with the 9 finalists chosen. “We had many strong cases in the Marketing Company of the Year category this year,” they sound. “The 3 finalists show that, each in their own way and in different sectors, they are worth their selection and are inspiring in terms of meaningful marketing.”

We also hear a positive story from the Young Marketing Company jury president: “The candidates for the Young Marketing Award were all very young, start-up companies, active in very diverse sectors. Some of them will be invited to resubmit their case later because it was too early to assess the success of the launch of their proposition. In the end, we selected 3 finalists who sufficiently convinced the committee that their marketing approach is central to building future success.”

“The selection of the finalists for the Marketing Leadership Award was a voyage of discovery along the impressive careers of Belgian marketers,” adds the jury president of the eponymous category. “All marketers who have proven that positive change and sustainable growth can go hand in hand. We sensed in them the power that marketing can have and chose our finalists on that basis. Now it is up to the jury of the Belgian Marketing Awards to choose who will go home with a Gold, Silver and Bronze Award. Being part of this jury shows how much marketing has evolved, how each member can offer a unique point of view and how respectful debate can lead to inspiring results. Thank you Belgian Marketing Awards, for an inspiring evening.”

Jury and ceremony

The selection of the winners in the three categories is in the hands of a diverse jury. This consists of Catherine Closset (CMO Director Stellantis Belux), Eddy Cremers (Sr Client Officer Ipsos), Alain Decrop (Professor University of Namur), Eveline De Ridder (Partner Whyte Corporate Affairs), Maggie Geuens (Professor Ghent University), Anne-Françoise Piette (Partner Brain Impact), Kris Michiels (Country & Marketing Director, National Lottery), Koenraad Buekens (Managing Director OMD, Koen Van Impe (CEO &KOO Network), Etienne Bachelier (Marketing Director of Alken-Maes), Lise Conix (CEO Schoenen Torfs) and Ruben Renaer (co-founder Brauzz), with Michel Mersch (CEO Nestlé Belgilux) presiding.

As a reminder, on November 8, this jury will announce the winners within each category. This year, rather than just one winner, there will be a Gold, Silver and Bronze Award in each category. Moreover, Deloitte, which is this year’s partner of the Belgian Marketing Awards together with Kanaal Z and Adobe, will also present a special Award itself this year.
